Velankani’s
Special Economic Zone Industrial Park is located
at Sriperumbudur in the state of Tamilnadu. The
Park will primarily meet the business needs of the
telecom OEM manufacturing giants like Nokia, Flextronics,
Motorola, Foxconn, etc. who are looking to set up
manufacturing units in Chennai. Hence it is proposed
that the Park will be a Sector Specific Special
Economic Zone for “Electronic Hardware &
Software, including ITES”. The Park will primarily
cater to component manufacturers which will result
in the formation of supply clusters to the industry.
The key purpose is to set up and provide readymade
infrastructure to reduce the lead time necessary
to start operations.
Velankani’s Industrial Park is along the National
Highway 4 (NH-4) that connects Chennai to Bangalore.
The distance from Chennai is approximately 45 Kms.
The proposed site is in the planned IT Hardware
Manufacturing zone and is about 10 Kms from the
Nokia Telecom SEZ (Phase-I) and about 3 Kms from
Flextronics SEZ.
Velankani proposes to set up the entire SEZ so that
clients merely move in, plug and play. All basic
infrastructure like power, communication, water,
sewer, and storm water drains will be provided by
Velankani to meet any present or future requirements
of the clients.
Adequate provisions are made for the development
of common amenities such as:
- Security / Reception Complex & Buildings
with common facilities
- Roads / Drains / Medians / Service Lines
- Sump / Overhead Tank / Pump House
- Sewage Treatment Plant
The entire SEZ Industrial Park is envisioned
to be a modern manufacturing township. |
